Clyde Buttery‘s post: “What a fantastic day. St Florian’s Day. Today the Fire Service outdid itself with the funeral service for Albert Greenman. From the Chief, to the Minister, the Fire Service Fund, Credit Union and just about everybody else of importance in S.A., we gathered to finally ‘bury’ Albert Greenman, 98 years after he was killed whilst serving. Special mentions for David Sweet, who found the unmarked grave, and decided to devote himself to rectifying this anomoly of no marker, and Trevor Ward, the Energiser Rabbit, who runs around making sure that retirees and/or their families are looked after, who decided to get involved, and stirred up management and the Fire Service Fund. Some family members of the firies who fought the *’City of Singapore’* fire, met for the first time and exchanged memories of their loved ones. All in all, a day to remember.”
