It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our colleague, Firefighter Neil Dennis Mills who passed away peacefully, aged 84, surrounded by his loving family on the 31st of July.

Neil joined the MFS on the12th of April 1960 and dedicated his services throughout the South Australian community where he served at Port Adelaide, Glenelg, Adelaide, Christie Downs, and O’Halloran Hill stations until his well-deserved retirement on the 22nd of SEPTEMBER 1995.

Throughout his service of 35 years, Neil had a profound impact within the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service and the wider South Australian community.
In Neil’s memory and to pay our respects, a memorial service will be held, as follows:

All Operational MFS personnel attending the memorial service are to wear dress of the day, including medals, cap, tie, and softshell jackets if required.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Neil’s family during this time. As we mourn his loss, we can reflect on the spirit of Neil’s service to the community.
