It is with great regret and sadness that I Inform you of the passing of Station Officer David White.
David passed away peacefully today the 5th of July 2023, with his partner Shiona
Sommerville and his family by his side in the comfort of the Mary Potter Hospice.
Shiona would like to thank the Staff from Mary Potter Hospice for their compassion and support shown to Dave, Herself, and David’s children during his time in their care.

Shiona would also like to thank David’s fire service family that either dropped in to see David, called her, or sent messages of support and thought, all these acts of kindness and compassion helped Shiona incredibly in this very arduous time and she is extremely thankful.

Shiona and the Family wish to inform you that they will be holding a Private Funeral ceremony for David by invitation only, and, at a later date TBA there will be a celebration of David’s life for those that wish to attend and show their respect and say goodbye to David.

I would also personally like to thank all the members of the MFS family for their kind thoughts and messages, also those that sent messages of support and care from outside our service to be passed on to Shiona.
Shiona is incredibly thankful for all the messages.
