Passing of Bob Russell.

It is heavy hearts that SAFSRA informs members on the passing of our fellow firefighter  Bob Russell.

SAFSRA passes its deepest condolences to the Russel family, friends and workmates.

We regret to advise of the passing of Robert “Bob” Russell, a retired firefighter of
the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service.

Bob commenced his career with the MFS on 9 June 1958 and served until his retirement on 18 July 1988, completing 30 years of service. From 1972, he was stationed at Ridgehaven and later served at Headquarters from 1987.

In recognition of his service, Bob was awarded the National Medal (First Class) and was listed in the Australian Roll of Honour in 1983.

Outside of the Service, Bob had a strong love of fishing, boating, and golf, and continued to enjoy these pursuits throughout his retirement.

The MFS acknowledges his long and dedicated service and extends its sincere condolences to his family, friends, and former colleagues.
