Phillip Thomas King
02/08/1932 – 21/11/2023
ID: 1098

Dear MFS Staff,
I regret to inform you of the passing of retired Firefighter Phillip Thomas King, who dedicated 33 years of his life to the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service.
He was 91years old.
Phil joined our ranks on 7th July 1955 and served with commitment until his retirement on the 9th of July 1988.
Throughout his career, Phil reached the rank of Firefighter and served at various locations, including HQ, Woodville, and Gawler stations. His contributions and professionalism have left a lasting impact on our organisation, and he will be remembered for his dedication to the service.
After retirement, Phil moved to Swan Reach, and later became a part of the community in Price on Yorke Peninsula. He also lived in Port Pirie, and his final days were spent in Ardrossan.
In accordance with his wishes, a private cremation ceremony has taken place. The family is planning a memorial in honour of Mr. King, planned for February 2024 in the town of Price. Further details regarding the memorial will be shared as they become available.
Please join us in extending our condolences to Mr. King's family during this difficult time.
We recognise and appreciate his contributions to the MFS, and his memory will be respected and remembered by all.

Yours sincerely,
Alex Turnbull
