James (Jim) Hebbard 3/3/1949 – 19/7/2023 ID: 1588 Joined: 4/7/1977 Retired: 31/8/2001
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved colleague, Firefighter (1st Class) James Hebbard (retired), affectionately known as Jim. He departed from us on Wednesday,19th July 2023, at the age of 74, at the Amber Aged Care Home in Paradise, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Throughout his 24 years of dedicated service, Jim made a profound impact on our Fire Service community. He served at Headquarters, as well as the Salisbury, Gawler, and Ridgehaven Stations. He began his career with our fire service on 4th July 1977, protecting and serving our community with dedication until his well-deserved retirement on 31st August 2001.
Jim was cherished for his warm-hearted and affable nature and was renowned for being a happy and easy-going workmate, always lifting the spirits of those around him. His willingness to lend a helping hand to new recruits during their early careers left a legacy of mentorship and support. In honour of Jim's memory and to pay our respects, a funeral service will be held as follows:

All Operational MFS personnel attending the funeral service are kindly requested to wear dress of the day, including medals, cap, tie, and softshell jackets if required. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to Jim's family during this difficult time. As we mourn his loss, we can reflect on the spirit of Jim’s service to the community.
