Grant joined SAMFS on Monday the 18th of August 1975 and Retired on Sunday the 17th of July 2016.

Grant was promoted to Station Officer Level 1 on the 26th of March 1986 and then to Station Officer Level 2 on the 1st of August 1991.

During Grant's tenure with the MFS, he served at Prospect, Adelaide and Largs North Stations, also Central Command and Community Safety & Resilience / Built Environment.

Grant passed away on Saturday the 20th of September 2025 following a battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis surrounded by Family.
