Retired Station Officer

Rodney Francis Smith

DOB 6th August 1954


It is with sadness that I advise you of the passing of Retired Station Officer Rodney Francis Smith.

Rodney Joined SAMFS on Monday 9th January 1978 and Retired on Thursday 1st July 2021.

During Rodney’s career he was promoted to Senior Firefighter on 29th June 1987, Station Officer D Class on 14th December 1988 and to Station Officer C Class on 14th December 1990.

Rodney served SAMFS at Headquarters, St Marys and Special Operations (Emergency Management).

Rodney passed away peacefully while in the Flinders Medical Centre on Tuesday 7th September 2021 with his loving family by his side.

Rodney’s family farewelled him in a private ceremony on Tuesday 14th September 2021 and wish to thank everyone for their kind wishes and thoughts.
