Herbert Headger Rededication Memorial Service St Florian's Day

Dear SAFSRA Member,

Attached is an invitation from the SAMFS Chief Officer for you to attend the Rededication Memorial Service 4 May 2023 at the West Terrace Cemetery Adelaide on Thursday, 4 May 2023 from 1030 - 1200hrs.

The service represents the culmination of major restoration works to the grave site of Fireman Herbert Hedger who lost his life in a line-of-duty-death on 30 January 1914, 25 days after his attendance at the Buttery Brothers Furniture Manufacturers factory fire in Rundle Street, Kent Town. This event will not only commemorate the service of Herbert Hedger, but will also coincide with St Florian’s Day, which will provide an opportunity to recognise the selfless dedication and bravery of firefighters world-wide, and more importantly remember and honour the 10 MFS and 17 EFS/CFS firefighters who have lost their lives protecting and serving the community.
